Employers: As horticultural professionals, you have probably dealt with potential clients who wondered what made your copany qualified to do the job. This is your opportunity to Gain the Advantage. As a landscape designer, contractor, retail or wholesale nursery, grounds maintenance service or garden design professional, the MCH program gives you the ability to quickly and definitively show prospective customers that you are a qualified, professional company.
Employees: As an employee in the Green Industry it is your responsibility to represent that industry in a professional manner. The MCH program will not only assist you in improving your skills in the industry, but will demonstrate your professionalism, thus achieving both customer and employer confidence in your abilities.
What benefit do I get from the program? The biggest benefit is customer confidence. The name “Massachusetts Certified Horticulturist” lets the customer know that you have a strong knowledge of plants.
How do I begin? To begin you will want to purchase the Massachusetts Nursery and Landscape Resource Guide and MCH Training Manual. Each manual is individually numbered for an opportunity to take the exam. Exams are given twice a year. The first in February at New England Grows and the second exam is given in August.
