Mission statement

A landscaped yard is a happy yardThe Massachusetts Nursery & Landscape Association, Inc. (MNLA) is a statewide association dedicated to advancing the interests of “green industry” professionals. MNLA is a nonprofit organization whose members are businesses and individuals committed to promoting awareness of environmental horticulture and upholding the highest standards of the nursery and landscape industry. MNLA is the largest green industry business development vehicle in Massachusetts, providing its members with educational opportunities, industry news, legislative representation, and business development resources. First established in 1910, MNLA has represented the needs of nursery and landscape professionals for more than 100 years.

 

MNLA members work to promote the environmental well-being of our state as well as the highest levels of business ethics within their profession.

 

Today, Massachusetts’ environmental horticulture industry contributes an estimated $2.6 billion to the Massachusetts economy, half of which is in plant production and sales. And it helps keep an estimated 90,000 acres dedicated to agriculture in Massachusetts, of which 40% is in a land preservation program.*

According to a recent economic impact study, the Massachusetts green industry employs at least 68,000 people at nurseries, greenhouses, florist shops, garden centers, and landscape-related businesses. Almost two-thirds (43,000) of these are full-time positions. An additional 7,500 jobs remain available in the industry across the state, providing a viable career opportunities for people with a wide range of skills and experience.*
